  • At press time, West Texas Intermediate crude for August delivery rose $1.35, or 1.3% to $105.62 a barrel. Brent crude rose $1.30, or 1.1%, to $111.35 a barrel.
  • A federal jury found that former Minnesota oil industry executive Michael Reger was responsible for securities fraud, capping a shareholder lawsuit against Dakota Plains Holdings, according to the Star Tribune. While serving as Northern Oil’s top executives, Reger and Ryan Gilbertson in 2008 also created Dakota Plains, which transported oil and frac sand for North Dakota’s petroleum industry.
  • Atlas Sand Co. LLC, a provider of proppant, trucking and last mile logistics services to the Permian Basin, announced the appointment of Jon Tutuncu as chief commercial officer.
